Very soon, we will have three (possibly even four depending on how fast the adoption goes) boys who are considered school-age! The idea of sending all of our boys off to school most of the day is, admittedly, a little scary. When all of Sawyerโs friends were going off to pre-schools, I remember looking into a few but not even knowing where to start. Ultimately, we chose to keep him home until Kindergarten and did the same for Rhett, but with Ford being so much older in his grade, we have been considering looking into local pre-schools from him.
Considering pre-schools or childcare for younger children can be a really hard decision. There are so many different options and providers all with different requirements and schedules and certifications. I had no idea where to start when we were first looking, but I found the Quality Rated website, which makes it so simple to see all your options in one place.ย It has all the options for pre-school and childcare providers in the state of Georgia in one place. The free search makes it possible to search by location, distance, prices, services offered, and Quality Rated star-rating. You can see their safety and inspection reports, operating hours, prices, teacher credentials, and transportation options. It does so much of the work for you.
The Quality Rated system has programs that are independently evaluated by credentialed childcare experts to ensure that they are following the best practices and participating in the Quality Rated program shows that these schools are committed to following the standards, but the website includes all childcare providers, even excempt ones, so that you can see all childcare or preschool options in your area and make a decision for yourself. It even has the option to search along your commute which is so helpful if you are one of the many people commuting and needing child care in Georgia!
Looking for a quality child care or preschool program? It would take forever to call around, but the Quality Rated website makes it really easy to search. Weโre really lucky to live in a school zone for one of the elementary schools that has a preschool as well, and I loved how the website showed all of the school information as well as how many spots were available in the program. I know a lot of Moms who move into this area as that questions on local pages, and this website is a great way for new Georgia moms to search the local preschools and see how many spots are still available.
We still have another year before Ford will be able to be in pre-k but we will be starting our research soon so we can be on top of it! I hope all you GA moms will check out the Quality Rated Website and use this helpful worksheet for help finding childcare.
