The world is crazy right now, that is for sure, and with Easter coming up and so many people stuck at home, I thought I’d share some fun ideas for Easter basket fillers that you can make at home without any trips to the store! There is still so much fun to be had despite the shelter-in-place orders, so ransack your supplies, get creative, and have fun!
1. Snacks! So maybe you didn’t think to stock up on Easter candy, but maybe you have other snacks around your house? You can use my cute tutorial here for making these cute Easter bunnies from Ziplocs! I used Skinny Pop but you could use any yummy snack!
2. Bubbles! There are lots of easy bubble recipes on the internet, I made these last week and just poured the extra into a plastic jar and used a piece of wire to make a little bubble wand to go along. Some cute twine and it’s a cute little basket filler!
3. Homemade Peeps! Okay, so they might not be shaped like chicks (although I know some super-Mom out there could probably figure out how to), you can easily make some yummy sugar-covered marshmellows by simply….covering marshmellows with sugar! Luckily we had a pack I stashed for a hot chocolate bar and I could whip out some cute marshmellow treats! Just dip them in water and roll them in sprinkles, and boom! You’re super Mom!
4. Homemade Playdoh! There are a lot of awesome homemade playdoh recipes on the internet that use a variety of supplies. I didn’t have any cream of Tarter so I went with one that didn’t need it and it came out great!
5. Craft Supplies! Craft supplies are colorful and have limitless potential! My kids love when I get them new paints or markers. I grabbed a few things of cute paint that my kiddos didn’t know I had and added them in for more fun! Washi tape, sequins, glitter, stickers…they all make fun surprises in an Easter basket! You can also make homemade paints, crayons, etc.
Those were the things that I had available and time to make but there are tons more great ideas of homemade items you could add to an Easter basket. Here are 50 more ideas of things I thought of that you can make at home, all of these have instructions on Pinterest:

For Easter grass, I literally just used grass. What better time to do the authentic version? I simply cut some from my backyard, laid it in and trimmed the areas where it was too tall.
I’d love to hear what you guys are planning to do for Easter this year. I love the simplicity that the quarantining is bringing to the holidays and how the focus is really turning back to the Savior. I hope you and your family are safe and enjoying this unique time!
