disclaimer: the clothes in this post were given to me by Gymboree, but they did not ask me to post this blog or say anything about them. I just love these pictures I took of Sawyer for my Instagram collab with them, and wanted to share how cute they were!
Remember last year, when I was SO nervous for Sawyer to start Kindergarten? Well, this year was much better. Other than waking up early for school, he loved everything about Kindergarten, plus we got lucky that he got the best teacher ever. I’m already plotting what I need to do to make sure that Rhett gets her when he starts Kindergarten next year (praying that she stays at the same school!).
This year, we had a super relaxed, easy summer, so while I wasn’t looking forward to getting back into the wake-up-early, super structured schedule of school, I know school is what’s best, so obviously we do it. But I do already miss getting to sleep in a little more and have Sawyer there for our daily run-around shenanigans. I even feel a little guilty when the younger boys and I do something fun in the mornings like go swimming or out to eat.
Sawyer is loving first grade though. He’s been a lot better at getting up early this year and he read so much over the summer that he’s breezing through all the refreshers from last year test. Once reading clicked with him, it became hard to get his nose out of books sometimes and he begs for more time to read at bedtime before it’s lights out (which was totally me as a kid). He’ll be starting a few sports here soon too and we’re excited to see how he does since it’s been a while since he played an organized sport. This year is going to be a fun one!
PS- You really should check out Gymboree’s new clothes. They completely rid-did their style design and came out with cool, modern styles with throw-backs to the 70’s and it’s making my MCM loving heart so happy.

I love Gymboree’s clothes! Their pants are one of the few places that actually fit Kinsley and her super skinny frame!
