Last night we had our first Halloween party. Brandon had to miss our church’s trunk-or-treat activity so we hit up a local fall festival that had fun activities, food, and trick-or-treating. It started raining as soon as we left so we didn’t get to get fun pictures at the activity, but I did get to snap a couple really quick before we loaded up in the van. It appears that awesome faced Halloween pictures are becoming our early tradition.
In case you forgot, here was last years gem:
Don’t worry though, I did bribe them enough to get one nice smiling one, but I think I like the crazy one better
I was seriously excited about Sawyer being Harry Potter. I went to every movie premiere (once I was old enough to drive myself to them) and bought the last few books they day they came out. I was raised on those books and have patiently waited for him to eventually show interest. Earlier this summer he asked me to tell him a bedtime story and I pretended to make up a whole story but really just told him the plot of Harry Potter. He was so into it that I ended up letting him watch just the first two movies and told him he couldn’t watch more until he was old enough to have read the entire series, but it was enough of a taste to get him excited and I love it!
Also as a side note, I’ve always avoided showing my front door because, as you can see, our front steps are missing! We live with it everyday and I rarely even notice, so why not include it here? Someday we’ll get them rebuilt (we had to rip them off when the basement flooded and needed to be re-sealed) but for now- gravel that I shovel back every few months when it gets spread out. And ya know what, I love it. I love our house. I thank the Lord for this home where we are raising our boys every. single. day. Life is so good.
