With our three fun boys and our adoption going on, this holiday season has been crazier than ever. Paperwork, working extra to raise funds for our adoption, and the usual business of life has kept us running around more than ever. I thought it would be fun to share with you exactly what I’ve got in my bag as I’m out holiday shopping and making memories as a family!
–Coloring Books. Ford is serious about coloring lately. If we find the right coloring book and leave it out on the table with markers, he’ll sit and color for an hour, completely engrossed in what he’s doing. For a kid who has always been a handful, this has been amazing. Since we’ve been spending so much time in the car running errands, I like to keep a coloring book and washable markers in my bag to keep him entertained. Don’t forget the washable markers!
–Great snacks. To be honest, these are for me just as much as they are for the kids. Every parent knows what it’s like to be out and about and you’re starving and start digging through the diaper bag to steal a snack. I love these new Jif® Power Ups™ Creamy Peanut Butter Chewy Granola Bars because the kids love them just as much as I do. Have you tried them? They come in two forms- granola bars or clusters. Both are great, and peanuts are the first ingredient in both kinds. 
I picked them up last time we were shopping at Publix and they have become a must-have in my bag.
They are nourishing and filling, which is so hard to find in snacks. My boys want some thing filling and don’t always want to choose something nourishing. I want them to get full, and these are a great option for them to get full and snack away.
I love to break them out when I’m out holiday shopping too, they are the perfect power up when I’m running from store to store getting all the great deals! -Screwdrivers. Okay, I know this one sounds weird, but I got these tiny screwdrivers last year for Christmas, and I use them all the time. They’re perfect for opening holiday packages, replacing batteries in new toys, or anything else I need to do. They are on a key chain attached to my keys and it’s so convenient!
-Baby Wipes. Even though I don’t have kids in diapers anymore, I still carry baby wipes all the time. It seems like no matter where we go the boys find a dirt pile to play in, so wipes are my go-to for always having on me to clean up with.
–Chapstick or Lip Gloss! I don’t know about the rest of the US, but it got cold so fast in the South this year! We usually have warm falls with temperatures in the 70’s this time of year, but it has been in the 30’s and 40’s almost everyday. With the cold weather has come the dry weather as well and I have been turning to chapstick more and more lately!
–Thank you Cards. There’s no better time for writing Thank You Cards for those holiday gifts than when you’re sitting in line at the bank or somewhere else. I always try to keep a couple on hand!
-Hair Bands. Because sometimes all that holiday shopping get serious and you gotta throw your hair up and get it done!
