Growing up, my family had all kinds of its own holiday traditions: newspaper for wrapping paper, Christmas morning doughnuts, matching pj’s and more. A few years ago, my little family happened to start one of our own. My kids always come grocery shopping with me, and one Christmas, we had a lot of guest over for dinner in December. Each time we went to the store, Rhett insisted we buy Lemonade for our friends coming over. I thought it was cute, and it turned out to be the perfect drink! From then on, it just became tradition that every time we had holiday guest, we bought Minute Maid Lemonade for dinner, and now it’s turned into becoming something we do for any special meal. So naturally, what did we have with Christmas dinner last year? Lemonade.
This year, I’ve been planning out all of our holiday meals and get-togethers with family, and what’s at the top of my shopping list each time? You guessed it, Minute Maid Lemonade. Rhett makes sure to remind me every time we make a grocery list for Publix that we need to buy more (last year we actually gave him a jug of lemonade wrapped as one of his Christmas presents last year haha).
I love this new tradition in our family, and this year we are running with it! Holiday dinners are always so heavy, with cakes and meats; drinks like egg nog aren’t refreshing at all. Minute Maid Lemonade is so light and refreshing, why not have it at every holiday party?
When I started decorating our house for Christmas, I starting with a really neutral, black and white theme with tons of greenery.
Once we had all our pretty plates and napkins and garlands, I added some fresh Meyer Lemons tucked in places to give it a bright and fun feel, and to match our drink of choice!
A little bit of twine with a sprig of fir tucked into our drinks takes our lemonade right into the holidays!
We love Minute Maid’s Light Lemonade in both the original version and the Pink Lemonade flavor. Publix sells both flavors, so we always grab ours there.. Now that we’ve stocked up on Minute Maid Lemonade for our holiday get togethers, we are ready for having all of our friends and families over! I always make sure to buy extra bottles during the holidays because once everyone comes over, it goes so fast!
I think it would be so cute if you added some salt to the rims of the glasses, just for a little “frosted” look, but no matter what you do, Minute Maid Lemonade is the perfect drink to take to holiday get-togethers!
I’d love to hear what some of your favorite Christmas traditions are and how they started. I also want to hear what you are bringing with you to all the potlucks and get-togethers this holiday season! Let me know in the comments, and pick up a few bottles of Minute Maid Lemonade at your local Publix, trust me, after all the heavy meals and treats, everyone will thank you for something unexpected and light!
