Happy Thursday everyone! I know many of you are in full swing Christmas-mode, and today I wanted to share our families bucket list for the holiday season. Every year I have hopes for so many fun holiday activities, and so I made a little bucket list to help us cross them off our list (that’s the whole fun of list, right?) I wanted to share with you some of our favorite holiday activities that we’ve done or are getting ready to do!
Some of the things on our bucket list for the holidays this year are: going and cutting down a Christmas tree, seeing Christmas lights, sending Christmas cards, watching “Elf” and “Rudolph,” reading the nativity story, making Christmas cookies, buying matching Christmas PJ’s, and going Christmas shopping.
One of the first things we did off of our list was decorate our golf cart! In our little town, decorating our golf cart for holidays is a must-do. We drive our golf cart everywhere, especially if we get a nice warm Christmas this year. I love when it is all decked out in holiday garb, so this year the boys helped me get it holiday ready nice and early! I might add some battery-operated lights, but I love how festive it already looks!
One thing that is not on our bucket list, is getting sick. Both of the last two years we have gotten the flu bug really bad around the holidays. As much as I’d like to hope that won’t happen this year, I’d rather be prepared in case it does. On one of my weekly runs to Kroger, I stocked up on some of the best cold and flu products out there right now. Kroger is a great go-to destination for any flu needs. Here’s what’s in my stock-up kit:
Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes are on my grocery list literally every single week. I use them for cleaning, for disinfecting, for everything. They are one of those cleaning supplies that you never need to try anything else because they are that good. Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes wipe away 99.9% of the most common allergens* which means I rely on them even more during cold and flu season.
Theraflu Power Pods Daytime Severe Cold. These convenient pods fit in most single-serve beverage makers, and they work fast to relieve even severe symptoms. I bought the Theraflu Power Pods Daytime Severe Cold version, but there is also a Theraflu Power Pods Nighttime Severe Cold one to help you get a good night’s sleep. These can help relieve minor aches and pains, headaches, nasal and sinus congestion, coughs, and sore throat pain. I love that they are like a yummy drink because nothing feels better when you have a cold than something warm going down your throat!
These pods provide powerful relief without a prescription. As an awesome bonus, beginning on 12/9/18, $1 Off Any Theraflu Product and you can get $2 off Theraflu Power Pods through 1/26/19, 12ct Powders, 40ct Caplets, and Syrups Twinpack here.
Abreva® Pump Cold Sore and Fever Blister Treatment. Abreva is great for when you feel that cold sore starting to pop up. Now, I’ll admit, I’ve never had a cold sore (fingers crossed I never get one!)
but Brandon has gotten them and they are no fun. Use it at the first sign of a cold sore and it will help it heal. It’s easy to apply and proven to help heal cold sores.
Children’s Robitussin® Honey Cough & Chest Congestion DM. Kids with coughs are no fun. The liquid-strength of Children’s Robitussin Honey soothes on contact and provides cough relief for hours so you can have more fun and less coughs. This product is intended for children 4 and up. It never hurts to have a little help kicking that cough to the curb. It relieves chest congestion, mucus and quiets coughs so kids can keep playing! (p.s.- that cute plaid pattern is my boys Christmas pj’s for this year. I haven’t given them to them yet, they are going to love them!). Now through 1/4/19 you can save $1.25 on Robitussin with this coupon.
Remember, Theraflu Power Pods Daytime Severe Cold and Children’s Robitussin® Honey Cough & Chest Congestion DM should not be used at the same time.
Breathe® Right Extra Clear Nasal Strips are the best when you are all stuffed up from a cold.
These work the same as the classic strips you know and love, except the Breathe® Right Extra Clear Nasal Strips are easier to remove, which is better for dry or sensitive skin. I can’t stand when I’m trying to sleep but I’m so congested that I can’t breathe through my nose, so I love having these on hand because if Mom doesn’t get a good night’s sleep, then everything runs a little crazier the next day. These are a great drug-free way to relieve symptoms and opens your nose more than 38% more than decongestant sprays alone.
My goal for this holiday season is to only enjoy time lounging in bed in our pj’s when we want to, not when we have to because we’re sick!
