We spent the last four days at the lake for the Fourth of July holiday. Lot of swimming, relaxing, and boating. Four days went by way too fast. We spent the Fourth fishing, boating, frying up bass, and then watched the fireworks a few coves down. It is one of my favorite things about the Fourth. Two families buy huge fireworks and fire back and forth across the lake, and on another dock a band of good ole boys plays classic Southern Rock that you can hear a mile away. There’s so many boats tied up and people on the shore, it’s a party for sure. This year we waited until we heard the party starting then half of my family jumped in boats, and those of us with little kiddos who might not last long drove four wheelers down. Rhett didn’t last too long but at least we got to enjoy it for awhile.
Our weekend retreat was like the calm before the storm. We got back, did what felt like a million loads of laundry, and repacked our bags right away to go out for Brandon’s graduation from BOLC. When we get home from Arizona, we’ll leave the next morning for my Aunt’s memorial service in Florida, and then the day after we get home, we have doctor’s appointments in the morning, and leave that night for a week long family reunion. It’s going to all be very fun but lots of travel and craziness! Even crazier is that two weeks after we get home from all of that we close on our first home!!! That might be my favorite part of all, we are so excited, it’s all we talk about really. Don’t worry, I’ll be taking you along for the ride here on the blog and on instagram. Follow along there for more of the day to day updates. Hope you’re Fourth was fantastic!
