A Morning In Pajamas

“This post is sponsored by Carter’s; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.” #LoveCarters #adCarters Pajamas (1)

With the cold weather rolling in to Georgia this week, we’ve been spending a lot more time inside. I love spending our days in pajamas playing. As a kid, we got new Christmas pj’s every year and I want to carry on that tradition with my kids. I mean, these pjs are adorable, who could resist? I got their pajamas from Carter’s this year, and every year, actually. They are perfect for cartoon mornings and snuggly story times and Christmas pj’s make all our holiday pictures extra adorable. Our days are so crazy but go so fast I want to remember every little detail of when they were little so I documented our morning so when they’re grown up and gone I have something to look back and cry over haha

Carters Christmas Pajamas (1)7:00 a.m- The big boys are still fast asleep.

Carters Christmas Pajamas (2)8:00 a.m.- Boys start crawling out of their beds.

Carters Christmas Pajamas (5)Carters Christmas Pajamas (6)8:30 a.m- Sawyer is always the last one at the table. He’d rather play than eat and hates when I make him stay and finish his food while Rhett is playing.

Carters Pajamas (5)9:00 a.m.- We’ve been working on reading and Rhett loves when Sawyer reads to him. I love that they’ll sit and do this for hours. He’s memorized this book so he loves “reading” it.

Holiday OutfitsDSC_1891DSC_183910:00 a.m.- This is how we spend most of our days, playing with cars, trains and boxes in the living room.

Carters Pajamas (6)11:00 a.m.- I’ve been getting the boys in the holiday spirit by doing little things every few days. They loved doing Christmas poppers but refused to wear their crowns.

DSC_1897ceDSC_1960DSC_196912:00 p.m.- If Ford is doing tummy time, they can’t help but play with him. Sawyer will lay next to him and sing and Rhett copies everything Sawyer does. I have been so happy that they are so good with him.

DSC_18551:00 p.m.- The big boys go down for naps and it’s just me and this little guy. I’m pretty spoiled.

They were so cute in their PJ’s that I got some cute shots of them in front of the teepee all decorated for Christmas. I find them in there all the time, it’s their favorite place to play!

We love Carter’s pajamas, they honestly are all my boys wear- they’re soft, they’re safe, they’re a great price. They are America’s favorite pajamas, and ours too and they run all the way up to size 12 so you can get all your kiddos matching Christmas pj’s at one place. You can shop all of Carter’s cute pajamas on their website here or at their store closest to you and you can click here to get a coupon for 20% off! They’ve got a great program running right now where you can donate pjs to a child in need too. Will your kiddos be in Christmas pj’s this year?

Making Reserve Weekend Easier

With Brandon coming home from his four month long army training and getting back into the swing of things here at home, the boys haven’t been excited for him to leave for his monthly drill weekend this month, especially Sawyer. I think maybe he thought he’d be gone for a long time again; it’s hard to help toddlers understand separation. I’d been looking for something to help make the separation easier, and went to Walmart and bought Sawyer one of the new CloudPetTM Puppies.

Cloud-PetsI took my niece along to help me pick one out (and the AA batteries for it, of course)CloudPetPuppy2

CloudPets™ are cute little stuffed animals that Brandon can send Sawyer voice messages to anytime he wants. When a new message arrives, the little puppy’s heart lights up, so Sawyer knows he has a message from Daddy. He presses the hand, and can listen to his message. He was so excited the first time I showed him how to press it and he heard Brandon’s voice. He listened to it over and over and over. It all runs through an app on your phone, so you can delete messages if you get tired of hearing the same ones :). The app also has parental controls to approve other people to send messages too, or add more CloudPetsTM in the future. I like that as the boys grow, we could get Rhett one when he is old enough and they could both get special messages from Dad.  CloudPet-how-toCloud-Pet-PuppyCloud-Pets

Sawyer gets so excited seeing the heart light up; it’s the same face I make when I get mail. I love that he knows Daddy is thinking of him and it gives him something to look forward to on those long weekends. Having something he can actually hold onto instead of just a picture has been comforting to him. You can even record a message and send it back from the CloudPetTM. Sawyer sent one back but I’m pretty sure it was just sounds of him playing with the puppy. Setting it up was really easy- 3 AA batteries, downloading the free app and it was ready to go; you can see exactly how it works here.  CloudPets™ will be available at all Walmart stores soon, but are only in select stores right now.

How adorable is that little puppy? Sawyer insisted on putting it with the other stuffed animals he sleeps with and snuggling it all night; I don’t mind since it is super soft. Brandon’s been leaving his messages and Sawyer gets so excited when he presses the button and hears his Dad’s voice. What a great way for parents to let their kids know they love them even if they can’t be with them.CloudPetPuppyToddler-CloudPet

We are loving our CloudPetTM. How would you use a CloudPetTM to stay close to someone? Send one to a friend away at college or maybe a boyfriend or girlfriend? It’s such a sweet way to let someone you miss know that you are thinking of them and keep them close.

Toddler Boy Room Ideas

As we get closer to closing on our first home (less than two weeks!), I am getting really excited about decorating, except for one small detail- I stink at picking paint colors. Really, really stink. I feel like I’ve got a good handle on what looks good together décor wise, but every time I pick paint, I love it in the store, and then somewhere between Home Depot and our walls it changes into an awful, strange different color. So I’m reaching out to the world, here are some of the things we have bought for the boys room- and I want to hear/see what colors you think would look good. While I am a fan of long lasting neutrals, I am also trying to let go of the reins and trust others opinions, so I’m up for anything. Toddler-Boy-Bedroom-Idea

(sources in case you love something as much as I did-
bedding / bookshelf / totem pole growth chart / rope mirror / curtains )

The boys room where we live now has a few more kind of outdoorsy décor elements that we might include depending on how it looks, like some lantern-y looking things and this print by Katie Daisy, but I know I want to start off with what we have above. A sweet neighbor of ours gave us a set of bunk beds that are a pine, natural wood kind of color and I’m considering painting those too. Would that be going overboard? Maybe something dark like the color in this room-

Martha Stewart Bedford Gray (from Home Depot) and the IKEA bunk beds are painted in one of my favorite colors, BM Chelsea Gray.

I probably should nail down that wall color before I even start thinking about the bed,  so let me hear your expert opinions! What color should I go for? Grey, blue, yellow, orange, you name it, I’m listening!

Toddler Boy Haircuts

Lately when I take pictures for my style post, Sawyer wants his own little photoshoot after. He doesn’t do much posing and jumps around a lot, but he’s such a dang cutie. I cut his hair over the weekend, and it didn’t come out half bad. I knew when I married Brandon that I’d have to learn to cut guys hair. My mom had always cut my Dad and my brothers’ hair and Brandon’s hair grows at un-naturally fast speeds (why is it that guys always get the amazing hair genes?) and has to be pretty short all the time since he’s in the military. The first time I cut Brandon’s hair alone I made it about half way through, realized it looked horrible and I had no idea how to fix it, started crying, and then let him buzz it all off haha. Not my finest new wife moment. Thanks to YouTube and an insistent husband (he really wanted me to figure out how to do it myself since paying for a haircut every other week would be crazy expensive), I’ve got it down pretty well now and cut my boys hair too. I think I’ve gotten pretty darn good, but it helps that Sawyer’s hair is so curly that it hides my mistakes. Thanks Brandon, for being my test subject and being willing to go out in public with a lot of really awful haircuts for awhile and pretending you liked them 🙂 Toddler-Boy-StyleToddlerBoyHaircutToddler-Boy-Haircut

These pictures reminded me so much of this one I took of Sawyer last July. It’s one of my favorites of him. His hair has gotten so much curlier now, but I love the way it looked flipped up when he was little.

Two has been so good to us. Sawyer’s newborn age and baby age were rough, one was a blast, but we are really having fun now. I’m just grateful he sleeps most nights. Here’s to another six months of exploring, learning, and shouting for fun.
